Bourne to be Wild
Engagement
Bourne to be Wild has engaged over 65 local people in the production of over 100 new artworks. Throughout the summer a programme of ‘print studio’ sessions explored relief printmaking techniques - using lino - to represent local Colchester city and Bourne Mill species.
Inspired by the power of print and the power of community, each artwork has been skillfully considered and produced, using an INSTAR curated ‘Bourne colour pallet’ of specially mixed inks and printed using selected handmade Japanese papers.
Individual prints will be individually exhibited in our online exhibition on 10th December as well as feature as part of our co-collaborative billboard exhibition from 10th December 2023 - 13th January 2024 whereby prints have been interconnected into large-scale compositions, overlayed with the words AT PEACE WITH NATURE, taken from local poet and wordsmith Mary-Ann Ambrose.
Our participating groups were:
Firstsite’s Young Art Kommunity (YAK Firstite), Level Best Trainees, Outhouse Youth and Outhouse Craft Pride,
