Wild Bright Activism

Jaywick Martello Tower

A wildly fun and creative workshop which will harbour your inner activist. You will explore creative writing, poster design, colour and graphic art to create striking and impactful ‘protest placard’ artworks to then be illuminated. Putting a spotlight on the challenges and opportunities facing our coastal communities as well as our oceans at a time of rapid climate change and rising sea levels, your art will find a powerful voice for you community and your natural neighbours.

This workshop is free and art materials are provided.

All ages and interests welcome. Booking essential.

Art forms of the Ocean: Talk

Join INSTAR, artists Trish Evans and Nick Humphreys, to discover the many different and incredible artforms found in the ocean and how nature beneath the waves provides a wealth of inspiration for art and creativity.

INSTAR will also share how coastal lifeforms and ecosystems in ESSEX and our relationship with the sea is inspiring the ARKADE project.

This free talk will also include a Q and A

Shoreline Sketching

March 4th

1pm - 2:30pm

Meet on the beach next to Beach Bar

Near Badminton Road

Join us for this fun shoreline sketch and strand line safari event. We will guide you through simple creative drawing techniques in composition, tone and texture, using pencil and pens. Starting at the yellow Beach Bar we will walk along the beach and also take a closer look at strand line treasures and coastal plant life to inspire our sketches and also take photographs.

All materials will be provided free.

This event will depend on dry weather. Alternative arrangements will be organised if it is raining.

Suitable for all ages and interests. No experience necessary.
